Product Description

*This plant is considered invasive in zones 9 – 12. For this reason, if you are in the Southern United States, we recommend keeping your plant inside, or growing it outside confined to containers.*

  • Plants come in a mix of Nature’s Ale Compost, perlite, peat moss, vermiculite, and inscet frass.
  • Grow in Nature’s Ale All-Purpose Indoor Potting Mix in either a well draining container or hanging basket.
  • Select a location with bright filtered light. If kept in direct light, leaves will burn and turn brown. If this happens remove the dead foliage and move plant to a shadier location. If placed in too much shade, plants will become leggy. Prune back etiolated stems to encourage bushier growth. Use these cuttings to propagate more plants, or place back into the mother plant to fill out the basket/container more.
  • Keep room temperatures on average between 55° and 75°F.
  • Water deeply when the top 25% of the soil is dry. This plant doesn’t like wet soggy soil, but it also doesn’t like to dry out completely. If you do notice some stems dried up, just clip off the foliage that still looks good from that stem, and place it in water or moist soil to propagate. Water on average once a week in the winter or dormant period, and every 3-4 days during the summer or active growing phase.
  • Fertilize once a month in spring – summer and do not fertilize fall – winter unless you want leggy growth. Plants can be taken outside on a bright filtered patio after all chance of frost has passed.
  • Note that contact with the sap can cause mild skin irritation for some individuals.
